Two Toned Productions was delighted to work with Dural Musical Society (DMS) on their recent production of Little Women.

This project was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team and a powerhouse cast, helping to bring a beloved classic to the stage in a fresh and engaging way.

For this production, Two Toned provided lighting and sound design, as well as technical oversight. Working within the realities of community theatre budgets, we focused on creative solutions that would deliver a professional result without unnecessary expense. Our role also included overseeing a small team of technicians, including a lighting operator and a microphone technician, to ensure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Peter Miller led the lighting design, crafting a dynamic rig that gave the show a modern edge. The lighting was a standout feature, with reviewers giving special commendation for the use of backlighting and the creative use of hazers. These elements were used to beautifully underscore the shifting moods and emotional arcs of the story, helping to draw the audience deeper into each moment.

On the sound side, Jayden Nawotka took on the roles of sound designer and operator. With a cast equipped with 16 headset microphones, the audio needed to be clear, balanced, and reliable. Jayden’s approach ensured that every word and every nuance in this dynamic and deeply emotional show was heard, allowing the full impact of the performances to resonate with the audience.

It was rewarding to see the whole team come together, using their skills and creativity to make the most of the resources available and bring such a heartfelt story to life. If you’re working on a production and think we could help, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us at [email protected] and let’s make something great together.
